City of Louisburg Ward 3 council member Ryan Graves resigned from his seat effective April 6 citing family and work obligations.
At its council meeting that night, council members discussed next steps to find a successor. Council members voted to accept applications through noon, May 1 with all applications presented to council members at the regular May 4 council meeting. Council members said that timeline would allow Mayor Donna Cook time to interview candidates and bring forth a recommendation at the regular May 18 council meeting.
Any resident who lives within Ward 3 interested in filling this vacancy may complete the application and submit it per the instructions on the application.
This ward generally encompasses the Starbooke Villa, Starbrooke and The Lake subdivisions and also includes part of the Countryside East and Countryside Meadows neighborhoods.
The appointed resident will fill the remaining term, which will be up for election in November 2027.
Responsibilities of the position include attending two regular monthly meetings and workshops, special call meetings and serving as a liaison to a City board/commission.
